Het scheuren van het front komt volgens onderstaande quote doordat het materiaal niet bestand is tegen uv-licht. Nu ben ik geen plastic expert maar is het niet een idee een lichte laag blanke lak over het front te spuiten? Het lijkt me aannemelijk dat de uv-straling enigszins geblokt wordt hierdoor.

When I first got it, I plugged it in and confirmed that it works fine. However, it is plagued by the consequences of Philip's unfortunate decision to use a keypad that is made from some sort of plastic that can't withstand long-term exposure to UV light. The damage to the keypad on my radio can be seen in the photo above. When I first picked up the radio in the hot sun last July I could actually feel the keypad melting under my fingertips!
